Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti National park, Ngorongoro Crater 

Spotting the ‘Big 5’ animals- elephant, water buffalo, leopard, lion, and rhinoceros- is the goal of every safari traveler, and there is no other place in the world you are more likely to encounter the Safari ‘Big 5’ in the wild than Tanzania.

Day 1 - Arrival day

Arrange your flights so that you can arrive in Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha on or before this day. Our One World representative will greet you upon arrival and transport you to your lodge. This will be your rest and relaxation day. Those who arrive earlier in the day or prior to this day will have the opportunity to add a cultural excursion such as a visit to a local coffee plantation or a waterfall hike or just enjoy a relaxing day at the lodge pool.

Overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge in Arusha. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.

Day 2
Breakfast at Camp, AM Game Drive in Lake Manyara
Box Lunch in Park, Afternoon and sunset game drive in Manyara
Dinner and overnight at Migunga semi luxury tented camp

Locally grown coffee or tea and bottled water available at anytime

Day 3

Safari to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll head off on a game drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its countless herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees. Spend
the day learning about the elephants, spotting lions, and taking in the break-taking views of this vast park. Overnight at a luxury tented camp, where you can spend the evening relaxing under the stars and listening to the sounds of Africa.

Day 4

Safari to Serengeti

After breakfast, you'll head out on a four- to six-hour ride to the plains of the Serengeti, home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other large cats that are likely to be spotted lazing in the shade. Lunch will be served en route, as you work your way through the savanna and acacia trees with an eye out for giraffes, elephants, antelope, buffalo, impalas, and the other numerous animals you will likely see along the way.

Day 5

All Day Safari in Serengeti (Optional Hot-Air Balloon Safari**)

Start your day with an optional hot air balloon safari or a morning game drive through the heart of the Serengeti. Bask in the glow of the African sunrise, as you likely catch hippos and elephants taking a morning bath or prides of lions out for an early day meal. Enjoy lunch in the park before continuing onto an afternoon/sunset game drive and the chance to see big cats hunting, wildebeests on the move, and giraffes gracefully noshing, all amidst the peaceful, endless plain.

Day 6

Safari through Great Rift Valley

Awaken to a chorus of birds singing, the sun rising over the acacia trees and, if you’re lucky, the trumpet of nearby elephants. Keep a keen eye out for giraffes and bachelor elephants roaming the plains as you make your way back through the Serengeti across the Great Rift Valley.

Day 7

Safari to Ngorongoro Crater

Awake early for a sunrise safari to the infamous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This volcanic caldera has its own ecosystem and is home to a vast array of wildlife, including one of the largest populations of lions on the planet. Be surrounded by hundreds of wildebeests, come within yards of zebras, ostrich, hyenas, buffalo, and, yes, even lions! All the while keeping a watchful eye out for the rare and elusive black rhino. After you've had your fill of the incredible fauna, your driver guide will take you back to your lodge in Arusha, to relax for the evening.

Day 8

Visit to Local Charity

After breakfast at the lodge depart for a visit to the local charity or cultural program your trip has supported. Spend time visiting the school, orphanage, community or health center, or remote village, which has been funded by a
portion of your safari. After your visit, depart for the airport or relax for the afternoon in Arusha prior to your evening or late night transport to the airport for your return flight home.
