Budget Camping Safari - Brief Description

5 days/4 days Tarangire, Serengeti National park and Ngorongoro Crater

Spotting the ‘Big 5’ animals- elephant, water buffalo, leopard, lion, and rhinoceros- is the goal of every safari traveler, and there is no other place in the world you are more likely to encounter the Safari ‘Big 5’ in the wild than Tanzania.

Tanzania boasts the worlds’ highest density of large predators and the largest population of endangered Black Rhino, both in the enigmatic Ngorongoro Crater, and Africa’s best location to enjoy elephants, the unmistakable Tarangire National Park. Within Tanzania’s borders lies 80 percent of the Serengeti savanna, home to the Great Migration, where millions of herding zebra and wildebeest make their seasonal pilgrimage in an awesome and unparalleled spectacle.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrival day
Pick up at Airport, Overnight in Arusha Safari Lodge
Arrange your flights so that you can arrive in Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha . Our One World representative will greet you upon arrival and transport you to your accommodation in Arusha. Those who arrive earlier in the day or prior to safari day will have the opportunity to add a cultural excursion such as a visit to a local coffee plantation or a waterfall hike or just enjoy a relaxing day.
Day 2

Am departing to Tarangire National Park, home to countless herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, lush greenery, and the distinctive and gigantic baobab tree (think "Tree of Life"), then stop for a picnic lunch in the park. Spend the day learning about the elephants, spotting lions, and taking in the break-taking views of this vast park. Overnight in a campsite overlooking Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by your private chef. Locally grown coffee and bottled water available at anytime

Day 3
After breakfast, you'll head out on a four- to six-hour ride to the plains of the Serengeti, home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other large cats that are likely to be spotted lazing in the shade. Lunch will be served en route, as you work your way through the savanna and acacia trees with an eye out for giraffes, elephants, antelope, buffalo, impalas, and the other numerous animals you will likely see along the way. Overnight in a campsite within the Serengeti. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by your private chef. Locally grown coffee and bottled water available at any
Day 4
Start your day with an optional hot air balloon safari or a morning game drive through the heart of the Serengeti. Bask in the glow of the African sunrise, as you likely catch hippos and elephants taking a morning bath or prides of lions out for an early day meal. Enjoy lunch in the park before continuing into the Great Rift Valley, spotting wildlife along the way. On a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of Oldonyo Langai, the “Mountain of God” according Maasai tradition, the region’s most-active volcano. Be on the lookout for (and ask your guide about) the shifting sand dunes that can sometimes be seen en route. And watch out for giraffe crossings. Overnight at a campsite on the Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by your private chef. Locally grown coffee at anytime
Day 5

Awake early for a sunrise safari to the infamous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This volcanic caldera has its own ecosystem and is home to a vast array of wildlife, including one of the largest populations of lions on the planet. Be surrounded by hundreds of wildebeests, come within yards of zebras, ostrich, hyenas, buffalo, and, yes, even lions! All the while keeping a watchful eye out for the rare and elusive black rhino. After you've had your fill of the incredible fauna, your driver guide will take you back to Arusha to meet your departing flights. Breakfast and lunch provided by your private chef. Locally grown coffee and bottled water available at any time.
